Established in 1935, Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology is a constituent college of Aligarh University. The college campus is built on 113 acres of land. Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology is commonly known as ZHCET. It is a government-owned college. ZHCET has 11 departments: Applied Physics, Applied Chemistry, Applied Mathematics, Architecture, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Petroleum Studies.
